Please do not approach working at Mt Hart as just a holiday job.
We are a business, and require staff who are going to help us to run our business well.
Note:
It is important that you understand that you will be living and working with a very small group of people.
Before you apply for a job in such a remote location, please think carefully about whether you will be happy working and living in close proximity with others, and whether you will be happy to spend your time off at Mt Hart. Without your own transport, you will be limited to spending your days off on the station and exploring the surrounding wilderness.
The closest town (Derby) is over three hours drive away.
You will not enjoy living at Mt Hart if you cannot handle living in an 'isolated' environment away from lots of people. In other words, if you are very gregarious and crave the constant stimulous of the city lifestyle you will not be happy working out here.
But.... if you enjoy studying and immersing yourself in the beauty of nature, walking, reading, helping and learning from others, then like so many of our previous employees you might find working at Mt Hart to be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life, and are very welcome to come and join us.
