Mt Hart Home / Flora and Fauna / Birds at Mt Hart

  • Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge offers excellent opportunities for birdwatching and bird photography, in the Homestead gardens, at the gorges and in the surrounding wilderness. Rare and unusual birds sometimes sighted in and around the gardens include the Purple-crowned Fairy-wren, and Peregrine Falcon, as well as flocks of Gouldian Finches. Azure Kingfishers, blue winged kookaburras, corellas, sulphur crested cockatoos, black-faced cuckoo shrikes, bower birds, whistling kites, Peasant tailed coucals, Bush Thickknees, and bustards are also some of the regular species of birds that can be seen around the gardens.
