Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge offers stylish and comfortable outback accommodation in two traditional "Kimberley Style" homesteads, both with wide verandahs and tropical roofs. Mt Hart also offers camping facilities right alongside the Barker River with beautiful swimming and fishing areas.
Our double and twin bedrooms are all individual in decor and size, maintaining the traditional homestead atmosphere.
All homestead rooms are close to shared facilities, the dining room, licensed bar, internet cafe and guest laundry. All rooms feature quality linen, bathrobes, ceiling fans and tropical garden views. In addition, seven rooms now have air-conditioning.
Each homestead has a large sitting room area and an extensive library collection featuring rare books.
Hearty cooked breakfasts, and gourmet three-course dinners are served in the airy, tropical dining room, featuring Aboriginal and contemporary art. Breakfasts include Taffy's home-baked bread, home-made preserves, cereals, yogurt, fruit from our own orchard (in season), juices and a hearty choice of cooked breakfast. For lunches, accommodated guests have a choice of a buffet lunch, featuring both hot and cold dishes in the bar, or a delicious picnic to take to one of the gorges. In the evenings enjoy a three course dinner (fine cuisine) including home-made soups, a varying selection of delicious main courses and exquisite desserts.
Please note: Special needs can be catered for with prior notice, and packed lunches may be arranged, if requested in advance. Tea, coffee and biscuits are complimentary throughout the day.
We also have a public phone, DVD/Video library, and the Gibb River Road's only internet cafe!
